Antiqued Mirror : DIY project

I spotted this incredible UHURU standing mirror years ago and  wanted to see if I could pull off a smaller version for my living room mantle. I picked up an antique mirror and a black metal frame from Cheap Petes, had the mirror cut to fit and then used acid to further distress the back. I painted over the areas I had stripped in black acrylic paint mixed with a little gold. The ending result, while not as subtle as the Uhuru made me happy and cost about $20.

West Elm Mirrored Trays

West Elm continues to impress me in the accessories department. Blue glass was used in Art Deco pieces, but it's very rarely seen now. These could serve as bar trays, a topper for a side table, or on a coffee table.
